Under this scheme, caravans will be placed on the private properties of affected residents, allowing them to remain within their communities while rebuilding or repairing their homes. This approach not only offers immediate shelter but also supports community cohesion during challenging times.

The NSW Reconstruction Authority will oversee the program, ensuring rapid deployment of caravans following emergencies. To facilitate this, the government has issued an open market Request for Quotation (RFQ) to identify capable caravan suppliers who can deliver these units promptly when needed.

By partnering with caravan manufacturers and suppliers, the NSW Government aims to streamline the provision of temporary housing, ensuring that residents have access to safe and comfortable accommodation in the aftermath of disasters. This initiative reflects a commitment to innovative solutions in disaster response and recovery, prioritising the well-being of affected communities.
